Why did Volkswagen Call it the “Taos”?

One question you may be asking yourself is: why call it the Volkswagen Taos? In short, the name is meant to resonate with American values. The model is named after a small town of Taos, New Mexico. Despite its size (6,000 people), the city has much to offer from outdoor adventure to cuisine and art. The town has a thriving art community, a well-known ski resort, great landscape views, and a rich Native American background. The town was also home to John Muir, a former engineer and mechanic who wrote manuals to help those with VW models maintain their vehicle for longer.
