The 14th Annual Turkey Day Dash 2018 starts at 8 AM at California Lutheran University (60 W Olsen Road). This event is hosted by Conejo Valley YMCA, and proceeds go towards helping those in need within the Thousand Oaks community. This 5K family run/walk is scheduled to end at 10 AM, giving participants plenty of time to spend the rest of the day with their families. A kids’ 1K race and costume contest will occur as well. Event organizers encourage participants to register early, though same day registration (at a higher fee) is possible.
Thanksgiving Day 5K in Simi Valley, CA
Elite Sports CA will be hosting the Thanksgiving Day 5K at Rancho Simi Community Park (1765 Royal Avenue) in Simi Valley, CA. The race starts at 8 AM and follows the Arroyo bike path, which runs along the Arroyo Creek. Water stations are located every 1.5 miles. Both beginning and advanced runners are welcome. This race follows a mostly-flat course, allowing runners to pick up speed over several long stretches of flat trail broken up by a few gentle elevation changes throughout.
