Anytime anybody talks about electric vehicles, they talk about range. Range anxiety is a real thing, but it is mostly overblown. The average driver usually travels under 30 miles per day. Even so, VW is pushing to give the e-Golf even more range with the 2017 model.

Range figures are not finalized yet, but the battery has been upgraded from a 24.2 kWh to a 35.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Volkswagen expects this change to increase the range of the e-Golf by 50% and they are aiming to give 2017 e-Golf drivers 124 miles of range on a single charge. That’s over 4 times the miles that the average driver travels in a day!
