How much can the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas tow?

As the largest Volkswagen SUV currently in production, the Volkswagen Atlas comes with loftier expectations than the Tiguan or the now-retired Touareg. The Atlas measures a foot longer than the Tiguan and about ten inches longer than the Touareg and it rises 70 inches above the ground. Despite it being the largest Volkswagen currently made, it is still classified as a midsize SUV. With that being said, one can’t help but wonder how much the Atlas is able to tow. Well, when properly equipped, the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas can pull up to 5,000 lbs. That is more than enough to hook up a medium-sized trailer or camper.
