What’s New on 2016 Volkswagen Passat

Volkswagen has finally revealed the 2016 Passat, the last of the Volkswagen models to release for the 2016 model year. We have all the information you’re going to need to know about what’s new on the 2016 Volkswagen Passat, and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that this may be the best Passat yet.

The Passat has been refreshed without receiving any model-altering changes. Some significant additions have been made, but you’ll still recognize the Passat when you see it. So why do we say it may be the best Passat yet? Because the Passat has already been a popular model, for good reason, and these tweaks for the 2016 model year help launch the Passat to that next level of sophistication.

Look closely and you’ll see the Passat receives some striking new exterior design features. Changes to the front and rear design blend class with style. It’s more aggressive, and if you opt for the new Passat R-Line model, you’ll notice black accents near the front bumper.

Volkswagen has managed to make the Passat’s interior look even more upscale, with an updated instrument panel, center stack, and steering wheel. Overall, the Passat delivers a premium feel throughout the cabin.

Like many 2016 Volkswagen models, the Passat receives the new and intuitive MIB II touchscreen infotainment system. Not only does it include USB connectivity, but it also has available VW Car-Net App-Connect that allows for the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Staying connected on the road should now be easier than ever in the Passat.

New high tech features also come in the form of safety and driver assistance. All models will come standard with the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, and depending on the trim level you select, you could have your model equipped with such features as Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control.
