Does the 2018 Volkswagen Passat have at GT engine option?
Oh, a “GT” engine? You like the sound of that, don’t you? The letters ‘G’ and ‘T’ go together better than ‘P’, ‘B’, and ‘J’. Well, our answer is y-e-s. The 2018 Volkswagen Passat will be available with a GT engine. The specifications are as follows:
- 3.6 liters
- Six cylinders
- 280 horsepower
- 258 lb.-ft. of torque
A GT engine is a big deal because it is somewhat seen as a checkpoint when measuring the prestige of a sedan. As a larger model, drivers tend to expect a solid performance from the Passat. Past year’s models have lived up to those expectations, but 2018’s GT engine is sure to blow away the prospects of the past. Some other new additions to the Passat GT include R-Line cues like a honeycomb grille and R-Line bumper. This gives the car a new look to go with its improved performance. Throw in LED headlights, dark taillights, and dual exhaust and you have a whole new car. Even with its R-Line pieces, the GT is not replacing the R-Line trim in the lineup.
The Passat GT should arrive at dealerships by the start of summer 2018. Its expected MSRP will be $29,940. Interested drivers should contact Neftin Volkswagen for more details and keep up with dealership news.
