2017 Thousand Oaks Turkey Day Dash

The Thanksgiving season brings delicious food, great times with family, and some football. If you’re a runner, it also means that a local 5K is probably coming up. More specifically, if you’re a runner in the Thousand Oaks, CA area, it means the 13th Annual Turkey Day Dash is only two weeks away. Keep reading for more details on this Thanksgiving tradition!

2017 Turkey Day Dash details 

Thanksgiving is the second to last Thursday of the month this year. Weird, right? Seems like it has fallen on a Thursday every year for like three years now. Anyway, November 23rd is when this year’s Turkey Day Dash will take place, and the 5K run/walk will start at 8:00 a.m. The 1K family fun run/walk will get underway a half hour earlier at 7:30 a.m. Also, there will be a costume contest! That will start up at 7:15 a.m.

Registration is open online up until the day before the race, and offline until the 19th, so get signed up! The registration fee for individuals is $40, and it is $85 for families. Proceeds will go to benefit the Conejo Valley YMCA youth and senior programs. The Conejo Valley YMCA will be hosting this year’s Turkey Day Dash, and all events will start at California Lutheran University (60 West Olden Rd., Thousand Oaks, CA). All participants will receive a Turkey Day Dash YMCA t-shirt. For more information, visit the event’s website.
